very simple concept. I've found the gameplay to not be much engaging, as you depend too much on luck for what piece will come next and where they'll fall off. also, pipes 1 and 3 are much worse than 2

The purple faces are not required to be defeated to complete a stage. In fact, in some cases, they may be your only bet against the flames! On top of that, the ice spell is your friend...
